Fun Ways to Ask Your Bridesmaids to Be Your Bridesmaids

Angela knew that the girls standing behind her would be just as important as the man standing before her, on her wedding day at Texas Old Town.

You may have only recently found the man of your dreams, or agreed to spend the rest of your life with him. But chances are, you have long known who else would be standing beside you during your wedding ceremony, when you decide to say your vows. We’re talking about your best friends, of course, otherwise known as your bridesmaids! To let them know just how special they re to you, and how much it means to have them serve as your bridesmaids, why not ask them in an equally special way. Here are a few of our favorite ways to ask that ever-important question, “Will you be my bridesmaid?”

Host a Brunch, or Meet for Drinks

The best way to honor the people that matter most to you is with time spent together, of course. With this in mind, hosting a brunch or even meeting for drinks can be a great way to ask your besties to serve as your bridesmaids.

This can also be a wonderful opportunity to allow your friends to interact with one another, which is especially helpful if you have friends from different periods of life that may not already know one another.

Meeting in-person also gives you a chance to talk about any initial plans that have already been made, such as a wedding date or venue choice, and what kind of responsibilities you could use help with.

Cute Cards Are a Must for Long-Distance Friends

If you will be asking some friends that won’t be able to attend a gathering, then a cute card is an absolute must! (Yes, a text would work just as well, but a card can be treasured for years to come.) There are lots of designer options now available, through stationery stores or sites on Etsy. But you could also make your own, using a favorite photo of the two of you.

Including a thoughtful gift is also great, when you won’t be able to celebrate together until the wedding day. This could include a cute confetti popper, or a box of macaroons or some other fine dessert.
