Your Ultimate Bridal Beauty Guide: Part One

Regular facials are just one of the ways you can look – and feel – your best on your wedding day!

Whether your wedding and reception is a year away, or only a few months, you likely have your mind on all the beauty prep you would like to squeeze in, so that you can feel your best and most beautiful when your wedding day does roll around. From dying your hair to having fake lashes placed, bridal beauty can involve scheduling a lot of appointments, and that can be a bit overwhelming to say the least. Fortunately, that is why we’re here, today, to share when to start all those beauty treatments, so you can look your utter best as a bride!

Relax, Best You Can

Extra stress can be bad for your skin, not to mention your relationship. So while it might seem difficult to relax when you have a dream wedding to plan, it’s important to do what you can to manage your stress, from both a beauty and overall health standpoint.

Finding activities you enjoy, whether it be taking a dancing class or training for a 5K with your bestie, can help reduce stress and also help you manage your weight. Plus, who doesn’t love a good dose of endorphins?

Of course there are lots of other healthy ways to relax. For some, that means daily mediation. Others might schedule monthly spa visits. Even relaxing with a hot cup of tea and a good book, or a night out with friends can be just what a bride-to-be needs.

What About Your Skin?

The sooner you start to address your skin, the more likely you are to achieve that flawless bridal glow on your wedding day. If you have any major skin issues you’re hoping to address, it’s important to schedule an appointment with a dermatologist as soon as possible. From addressing acne to wrinkles, a dermatologist could likely do wonders for your skin, but it could take some time to see results, so go as soon as you can.

Six months out is also a good time to start regular facial treatments. You want to find someone you trust, and a treatment that helps give you a glow. This is when it’s also wise to add dry brushing of your body’s skin to your usual routine. This can help to remove dead skin, and keep your body’s skin looking smooth. A quality lotion can also help, along with once or twice a week exfoliation.

When you hit the three month marker, it’s time to start going easy on the alcohol, especially red wine, which can cause dehydration and redness in your complexion. For bonus points, start adding in nutrient rich green juices, too, which can help to beautify your skin from the inside. (A daily vitamin, or one specific to hair and skin health, can also help to create beauty from the inside.)

Then, a week or two before the wedding is the right time to go for one last facial, but only one that you’ve tried plenty of times before, and one you know won’t irritate your skin! With any beauty treatments, especially so close to the wedding, it’s important to only go to someone you trust, and who you’ve seen before. After all, you don’t want any unpleasant surprises so close to your wedding day.
