Fun New Themes for Winter Work Parties

Fun Work Party ideas for the Holiday SeasonThis year, are you determined to create a memorable holiday party for your employees or coworkers? If so, you may be looking for alternatives to the traditional holiday party themes, like red and green Christmas decorations for a December gathering, or New Year-themed decorations for a January soiree. Well, today we’re here to help with some inspiring ideas for your next holiday party, specifically cool ways to make it one that your workers will never forget!

Which Theme Is Right for Your Company?

  1. Game of Thrones – while this show is certainly not to everyone’s taste, if you know many of your employees are obsessed with the show, why not take advantage of its most memorable line, “Winter is coming,” and plan a slightly medieval, slightly Sci-fi themed holiday party around it? Invite guests to dress up, or provide wooly coats when they arrive. Serve cocktails from sturdy metal mugs, and a feast of oven-roasted veggies and turkey legs or even rabbit stew. You could even have games such as musical thrones, and a “Hold the Door” style tug of war.
  2. Frozen – sure, it was likely your kids that first turned you onto this instant Disney classic, but what adult hasn’t fallen in love with, or at least become amusingly annoyed by the popularity of Frozen? You could easily host a family-friendly event for your entire company, or make it more adult-specific. Either way, consider upping the entertainment factor by creating a snowman building station, a pin the carrot on Olaf game, and of course, karaoke, where your coworkers can really let loose as they belt out those beloved/loathed lyrics, “Let it go.”
  3. Great Escape or Winter Wonderland – depending on where you live, by mid-winter your employees may either be wishing to getaway from the blistery weather, like to a beach, or actually missing out on the snow so characteristic of winter in some parts of the world. So, why not help give them what they really want? An escape!

If you live in a cold climate, change things up with a beach-themed holiday party, complete with palm trees, white sand, and fruity cocktails.

For those of you in a region that is sadly snowless, consider renting a snow machine, and filling your special event venue with the beauty of ice sculptures, twinkle lights, and hanging snowflakes.
