Stick to Your Wedding Budget with These Simple Tips: Part Two

Plan Wisely and Come In Under Budget

Planning wisely is one great way to ensure you actually get to enjoy your dream wedding, when your big day comes, like our bride Kathleen did!

What matters most to you on your wedding day? This might seem like a very big question, and it is certainly one that can have a lot of implications. But answering it might be simpler than you think, and best of all, it can be incredibly helpful. That’s because no amount of advice online is a substitute for deciding what you care most about, and therefore how your wedding budget should ultimately be broken down. Therefore, sticking to your very own list of priorities is often the best way to ensure you enjoy your dream wedding, without a pricetag that feels more like a nightmare!

Where Will You Wed?

Your wedding venue is likely one of the bigger investments you will make for your big day. So while you might be tempted to go with the one that costs the least, this is not necessarily an area where you’ll want to scrimp and save. After all, your venue will have a huge impact on the overall look and feel of your wedding. It is wise to make sure you choose one that suits your style, and is within your desired location area. From there, choose based on amenities offered (some venues don’t provide any tables, chairs, etc. with their baseline package, meaning the total cost could be much more than they initially seem), the look and feel of the space, and also how well reviewed the venue is. After all, you want to enjoy your experience.

From there, look at what else matters most to the two of you, and devise your budget accordingly. For instance, do you care a great deal about the photography, and very little about the catering? Or, could you care less about the floral arrangements, but have your heart set on a beautiful, custom wedding gown? Making a list of priorities is a good way to ensure you have funds set aside for the things that matter to you, and allows you to make compromises in areas that are of lesser importance, while still enjoying a wedding day that is very close to that of your dreams, and under budget, as well.
